News and Public Relations

No one likes to tell UC San Diego’s story more than us. Whether we’re writing a story for UC San Diego’s weekly online news magazine thisweek@ucsandiego, pitching the latest UC San Diego news to the media or capturing our achievements in our annual report, we are proud to shout our story from the rooftops and tout the achievements of our faculty, staff, students and alumni. You can also hear our story in person on a public tour.

Media relations

We are a liaison for our campus members and the media. In addition to managing media inquiries, our team members have contacts with local, national and international media organizations, and are constantly reaching out to them to tell our story and generate positive campus news. Social media is constantly evolving and we’re on top of it. This increasingly important communications tool is an expedient way to share our story and engage audiences, keeping them connected with UC San Diego. We manage numerous UC San Diego social media sites including Facebook, Twitter, YouTube, Pineterest, Google+ and others. We also offer social media guidelines.
